Over Easter weekend, I embarked on my first-ever trip away from Owen, to visit my sisters in DC (Rosie lives there; Stef bused it down from NYC). I had a blast! Here's a brief synopsis: whirlwind shopping trip to IKEA, delicious Indian/Nepalese food, lobster roll at Eastern Market, an afternoon siesta, a decadent Italian meal, lovely Easter service at All Souls Unitarian Church, Easter brunch at Aunt MaryEllen's. Of course, I checked in regularly to make sure all was good on the home front, and every call was met with the A-ok from Nate. Judging by the photos I found on the camera, Nate kept Owen busy studying birds (who needs pants to study birds?) and playing with his belt, which Owen could have used once he got his PJs on.

Easter eggs and boys weekend
Last week, I took Owen to his first Easter Egg hunt, knowing full well that it wasn't really something that he would excel at yet, but it was a nice day to head to the park. He was successful at finding a few eggs in the 'baby' section (where the eggs were simply strewn across the sand). Apologies to the woman who's butt-crack I inadvertently captured on camera, and to you, the innocent viewers.

Parting shot: our little man at his new IKEA table and chairs
